Before applying this hot fix, follow the instructions in SAS Note 35968 to generate a SAS Deployment Registry report, then verify that the appropriate product releases are installed on your system. The release number information in the Registry report should match the 'member' release number information provided above for the software components installed on each machine in your deployment.

The hot fix downloaded, W19009pt.zip, includes the updates required for all components listed above on all applicable operating systems. To apply this hot fix on multiple machines, you can either save W19009pt.zip on each machine or save it in a network location that is accessible to all machines.

Do NOT extract the contents of W19009pt.zip. The hot fix installation process will extract the contents as needed.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process. However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates to software.

  2. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

  3. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix.

  4. This hot fix should be installed using the same userid who performed the initial software installation.

  5. CONFIGURATION: No automatic configuration scripting is required for this hot fix. If you have previously configured software installed, the SAS Deployment Manager may present a screen where you will see "Apply SAS Hot Fixes" and "Configure SAS Hot Fixes" options. On this screen, you must ensure that the "Configure SAS Hot Fix" option is *not* selected. If this option is automatically selected, please de-select it prior to proceeding with the SAS Deployment Manager Screens. Failure to do so could have unintended consequences when applying this hot fix.

  6. You must deploy the hot fix in the following timeframe

INSTALLATION

Hot Fix W19009 must be installed on each machine where the updated components of the product, listed above, are installed. During the installation process you may see references to all operating systems for which updates are provided in the hot fix. The installation process will determine the operating system and which component(s) of SAS Size Optimization 3.4 require updating on the machine. See SAS Note 44810 for more details.

The hot fix will be applied using the SAS Deployment Manager. By default, the SAS Deployment Manager will search in the <SASHOME>/InstallMisc/HotFixes/New directory for hot fixes to be applied, but will also prompt for a location if you have downloaded hot fixes to a different directory.

After downloading W19009pt.zip, follow the instructions for applying hot fixes in the SAS Deployment Wizard and SAS Deployment Manager 9.4: User's Guide.

Please review the CONFIGURATION Important Note above concerning proper selection of the "Configure SAS Hot Fix" option in the SAS Deployment Manager.

The hot fix installation process generates the log file

<!SASHOME>/InstallMisc/InstallLogs/IT_date-and-time-stamp.log
for example, IT_2011-10-31-13.18.21.log. Each attempt to apply a hot fix results in the creation of a new log file giving detailed information regarding the installation process.

Postexec log files are created after the installation is completed and identifies the files that were added, backed up, changed and removed. These log files include the ‘member’ hot fix id in the name of the file and are also written to the <!SASHOME>/InstallMisc/InstallLogs directory. There is one postexec log for each ‘member’ hot fix applied (member hot fixes are listed at the top of these instructions).

The content of this hot fix is listed in the hot fix manifest.

Steps to Update DAV Content

Note: You can use DAVTree on UNIX/Windows, For Unix you must have a graphical interface.

These steps only required to be done once. If these steps were done as part of any of the previous Hot Fix, then ignore it.

If you do not have a graphical interface, use a UNIX command line tool that supports upload to WebDAV. For example, use DAVExplorer instead of DAVTree to perform the following steps.

WebDAV URL - - http://server-name:port/SASContentServer/repository/default/sasdav/
server-name is your MidTier hostname.
Port – is the port on which Webserver is configured to use

  1. Update file prf-table.properties
    (location - http://server-name:port/SASContentServer/repository/default/sasdav/Products/SAS
    Merchandise Intelligence Server/Configuration Documents/Property Files/prf-table.properties)

    Add the following lines:-
    ColumnHeading.ProfilingProject_ReportID.txt=Report ID
    ColumnHeading.ProfilingProject_ReportStatus.txt=Report Status
    ColumnHeading.ProfilingProject_LoadedBy.txt=Loaded By
    ColumnHeading.ProfilingProject_ReportSchedule.txt=Report Scheduled
    ColumnHeading.ProfilingProject_ExtractTime.txt=Last Report Generated

  2. Update file pko-table.properties
    (location - http://server-name:port/SASContentServer/repository/default/sasdav/Products/SAS Merchandise Intelligence Server/Configuration Documents/Property Files/pko-table.properties)

    Add the following lines:-
    ColumnHeading.ReportID.txt=Report ID
    ColumnHeading.ReportStatus.txt=Report Status
    ColumnHeading.LoadedBy.txt=Loaded By
    ColumnHeading.ReportSchedule.txt=Report Scheduled
    ColumnHeading.ExtractTime.txt=Last Report Generated

    In the tag <elements id="ProfilingProjectsColumnsElements" add the following lines:
    <element id="ProfilingProject_ReportID" width="150" required="false" visible="true" />

Z33004  updates  SAS Merchandise Intelligence Server 5.4

Run the Update Data Mart Script

Run the Update Data Mart Script to update the existing data mart:

1. Log on as MI ETL User (sasmi).

2. From the sasmi home directory, run the update_datamart script.
         /Lev1/Applications/SASMerchIntellServer5.4/sas/update_datamart.sh

3. Check the log file (update_datamart.log) for output and errors.
Note: When you run the update_datamart script, the system adds a date and time stamp to the name of the log file. This enables the system to maintain multiple versions of the log files. It also makes it easier to identify which log files correspond to specific runs of the scripts.

Here is an example of a log file that results from a script run on May 8, 2012, at 9:44 a.m.:
         update_datamart_20120508_0944.log

Note: This hot fix makes following schema changes. For details, see the Administrator’s Guide.

RDBMS changes:

1. Add two new columns to the table DI_TRANS.PRF_PROFILE
         ALTER TABLE PRF_PROFILE ADD PROFILE_STATUS_CD INTEGER;
         ALTER TABLE PRF_PROFILE ADD PROFILE_UPDATED_DTTM DATE;

SAS changes:

1. The stage table ‘STG_PROFILE’ is modified to apply datetime informat to STG_PROFILE.PUBLISHED_DT column.

Columns dropped from the table - SO_VAAR_REPORTS:         1) PARTITION_FLG
        2) PROD_PARTITION_LEVEL
        3) SUB_START_DT
        4) NO_OF_WEEKS_FRM_SUB_START_DT
Column added in the table - SO_VAAR_REPORTS:
        1) PROJECT_SKS
