The software components and release numbers should match the list of software components updated by the individual hot fix installers.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process. However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates to software.

  2. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

  3. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix.

  4. This hot fix should be installed using the same userid who performed the initial software installation.

  5. After application of this SAS Marketing Automation hot fix, you may receive the following type of warning message when you log on to SAS Management Console:
The following plug-ins attempted to load versions of jars that are not allowed in the framework.
    -emasmc
Click OK to remove the error message and proceed. The error message is indicating a difference in the version of the jar files on the system, but this does not cause any problems.
You should apply the latest version of the SAS Management Console hot fix to resolve this issue.

  6. If you use SAS Marketing Automation integrated with SAS Marketing Optimization, you should apply both the Marketing Automation and corresponding Marketing Optimization hot-fix to your system, at the same time. This is needed as Marketing Optimization consumes a jar file from Marketing Automation, and these jar files need to synchronized. Without the correct jar file in place for Marketing Optimization, communication between the two products might not function correctly. You might receive serialization errors due to the API signature being out of date. At times, there may be a delay in the corresponding Marketing Optimization hot-fix being made available, but we would recommend waiting to install both hot-fixes together. Contact Technical Support for further details.

  7. If you use SAS Marketing Automation integrated with SAS Digital Marketing and you use JBOSS as your Web Application Server, after the application of this hot-fix, please follow the additional instructions detailed in SAS Note 39481 "RemoteException occurred in server thread" error occurs when choosing a Recipient List Type of CI Export Definition in SASŪ Digital Marketing Studio. Please contact Technical Support if you require further information.

SAS Customer Intelligence Logical Types 5.3_M3

You must reconfigure and restart SAS Remote Services so the changes in SAS Customer Intelligence are surfaced.

  1. Using Windows explorer, on the machine where Remote Services is installed, navigate to the folder Program Files\SAS\SASVersionedJarRepository\9.2\eclipse and locate the file: com.sas.app.launcher.cacheFile

  2. Delete this file. Because this file is automatically generated, it is not necessary to create a back-up of this file before you delete it.

Note: When you initially installed SAS, you might have selected Windows options: run as managed scripts or services in the SAS Deployment Wizard. If you selected this option, then SAS Remote Services is run as a Windows Service. Generally, you can start and stop the service by using the Services window.

  1. Stop Remote Services using the Services window.

  2. Using Windows explorer, navigate to the SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\Web\Applications\RemoteServices directory and locate the file: RemoteServices.bat

  3. Open the RemoteServices.bat using a text editor or other suitable program. Microsoft WordPad can be used. (Make a back-up of the file before you do this step).

  4. o Modify the following line of the file:
    set SERVERTYPE=services

    o Change it to:
    set SERVERTYPE=scripts

  5. Save and close the file.

  6. At a command prompt, navigate to the SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\Web\Applications\RemoteServices directory and type: RemoteServices.bat start

  7. Wait for activity in the command prompt window to complete and check there are no errors. Close the command prompt windows to shut-down the program.

  8. Edit the RemoteServices.bat once more to revert the changes you made earlier. Alternatively you can restore the back-up copy of the file.

  9. To start SAS Remote Services, type ./RemoteServices.sh start.
Upon Restart of Remote Services, you may receive Warnings similar to the following:
WARNING: request for HIGHER version of <jar file name> ignored
These warnings are the result of newer platform files being referenced in the hot fix installation and do not compromise the functionality delivered.
