Installation Instructions for Hot Fix B10002

64-bit Enabled Solaris


Hot fix B10002 addresses the issue(s) in SAS AppDev Studio 3.4_M1 on 64-bit Enabled Solaris as documented in the Issue(s) Addressed section of the hot fix download page:

This hot fix download consists of individual hot fix packages for the following software components:

B08001 - SAS Foundation Services 2.1
B09001 - SAS AppDev Studio Eclipse Plug-ins 3.4
B40001 - SAS Information Delivery Portal JPS Extension 4.2
A73004 - SAS Information Delivery Portal 4.2
B45001 - SAS Web OLAP Viewer for Java 4.2

Before applying this hot fix, follow the instructions in SAS Note 35968 to generate a SAS Deployment Registry report, then verify that the appropriate product releases are installed on your system. The software components and release numbers should match the list of software components updated by the individual hot fix installers.


IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process. However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates to software.

  2. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

  3. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix.

  4. This hot fix should be installed using the same userid who performed the initial software installation.

  5. Each component of this hot fix requires post-installation instructions to be followed. Please see the post-installation instructions for this hot fix for links containing configuration steps for the individual components.


BEFORE INSTALLATION


Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process.
However, it is recommended general practice to back up your system before applying updates to the software.
This step should be required if you have customized versions of any properties or configuration files for the applicable product.
Be sure you save a copy of the existing properties before continuing this installation.

INSTALLATION

  1. The B10002s6.tar hot fix download package is a single tar file that contains individual hot fix packages for the components listed above.
    Copy this file to your location of choice, then extract the contents using the following command:

    tar -xvf B10002s6.tar

    This will create an B10002 directory which contains the following files:
    B08001s6.bin
    B09001wn.exe (applicable to clients running on Windows)
    B09001x6.exe (applicable to clients running on Windows for x64)
    B40001s6.bin
    A73004s6.bin
    B45001s6.bin
  2. Copy B08001s6.bin to each machine where SSAS Foundation Services 2.1 is installed.
    Copy B09001wn.exe or B09001x6.exe to each machine where SAS AppDev Studio Eclipse Plug-ins 3.4 is installed.
    Copy B40001s6.bin to each machine where SAS Information Delivery Portal JPS Extension 4.2 is installed.
    Copy A73004s6.bin to each machine where SAS Information Delivery Portal 4.2 is installed.
    Copy B45001s6.bin to each machine where SAS Web OLAP Viewer for Java 4.2 is installed.


  3. To install each individual hot fix, verify that the installation binary has execute permission. If it does not, use the chmod command to make it executable.
    $> chmod 755 B08001s6.bin
    -or-
    $> chmod 755 B40001s6.bin
    -or-
    $> chmod 755 A73004s6.bin
    -or-
    $> chmod 755 B45001s6.bin
  4. Set your $DISPLAY environment variable
    $> export DISPLAY=<your_node_name>:0
  5. Execute the hot fix .bin package:
    $> <path_to_bin_file>/B08001s6.bin
    -or-
    $> <path_to_bin_file>/B40001s6.bin
    -or-
    $> <path_to_bin_file>/A73004s6.bin
    -or-
    $> <path_to_bin_file>/B45001s6.bin

    For example:

    $>./B08001s6.bin

    This will initiate the installation wizard, which will guide you through the hot fix installation process. During the installation you will be prompted for the SASHOME location to be updated. You should provide the path to the top level SAS directory where the deploymntreg directory exists.
