Restarting in a Windows Environment
If you are in a Windows operating environment and you configured SAS Remote Services
to run as a Windows service, then
do not use the Windows services manager or reboot to start SAS Remote Services. When you restart SAS Remote Services
for the first time after installing an update, you must restart it by entering the following command at a DOS prompt:
SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\Web\Applications\RemoteServices\RemoteServices.bat restart
Restarting in a UNIX Environment
If you are in a Unix operating environment and you configured SAS Remote Services
to run as a service, then do not
use the native host services manager or reboot to start SAS Remote Services. When you restart SAS Remote Services
for the first time after installing an update, you must restart it by entering the following command:
SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\Web\Applications\RemoteServices\RemoteServices.sh restart
Note: If you do not use this command to restart SAS Remote Services, then you will see errors when you start your Web application server,
and the SAS Web applications will not start successfully.
