SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4 Windows IMPORTANT NOTE(S): 1. You must have SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) installed on your system before applying this Service Pack. 2. You must have Administrator Privileges on your machine. 3 You must close all your SAS software, including any SAS rich client software, SAS servers, SAS services and/or Web services. Stop all servers and services on all platforms. Windows users can refer to SASNote SN-013834 for information about stopping SAS services. 4. Every machine which will receive this Service Pack must have an updated Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Refer to Service Pack 4 JRE Requirements for more information. 5. A "PROCESS Return Code = 259" message may be produced by the Service Pack 4 installation, but this non-zero return code may be ingored. See SAS Note SN-017481 for additional information. 6. If you have created a network image which acts as a fileserver, from which your end users will run SAS as a client or install SAS, please read these installation instructions first: Applying SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4 to Network Images for Deployment Installation Instructions STEP 1: The Service Pack downloaded is a self extracting executable named e9h004wn.exe. Launching the executable will initiate the install wizard, which will guide you through the setup process. If your system is forced to reboot during the Service Pack installation, you should launch the setup.exe from the directory where the SP4 download was extracted to in order to complete the installation. By default, this location is C:\Program Files\SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4\SP01S8\setup.exe STEP 2: To complete the Service Pack installation you should view the Additional Instructions and Information. STEP 3: After installing the Service Pack, review the Configuration Instructions for any additional configuration that may be necessary for specific products you have installed. This completes the installation of SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4 on Windows. June2007
