INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX BUNDLE E9BX05 HPUX IMPORTANT NOTE(S): 1. You must have SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) and SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4 installed on your system before applying this hot fix. 2. Before applying this bundle, Technical Support strongly suggests that a backup of the existing installation be made. 3. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine. 4. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix. 5. During hot fix installation files are extracted to /tmp. Be sure to check the space requirement on the download page to verify that sufficient space is available before initiating the download. 6. Hot fixes should be installed under the same user account that performed the original SAS installation. 7. If you execute the SAS Installation Qualification Tool after installing the bundle, you may encounter one or more of these failures INVALID: File comparison failed for: !sasroot/sastest/sasiq_excludeFiles.xml INVALID: File comparison failed for: !sasroot/hotfix/sasexe/sas.e9bb45 INVALID: File comparison failed for: !sasroot/hotfix/sasexe/sas.e9bb95 INVALID: File comparison failed for: !sasroot/hotfix/sasexe/sas.e9bc18 INVALID: File comparison failed for: !sasroot/hotfix/sasexe/sas.e9bd12 This is a known issue, it does not indicate a problem with your install and it may be ignored. This issue is documented in SAS Note http://support.sas.com/kb/19/624.html 8. If you use SAS/CONNECT, you MUST also install E9CT05. If E9CT05 is not installed, this hot fix will not be fully functional AND jobs that include PROC UPLOAD and PROC DOWNLOAD will fail. 9. You must have root authority to apply this hot fix bundle. See the "Configuring User Authentication" section of SASNote 17313 for more information: http://support.sas.com/kb/17/313.html FILE INFORMATION: The hot fix bundle that is downloaded is in tar format and contains all individual hot fix packages that were available for download at the time that the bundle was created. The name of the tar file is e9bx05h6.tar In these instructions, the directory where SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) is installed is: /usr/lib/sas913 If any of the individual hot fixes included in the bundle have already been applied to your system, the hot fix will not be re-applied. The following message will be displayed for each hot fix that has already been applied: Checking Package: e9ba##h6.tar HotFix E9BA##H6 has already been successfully installed. where ## is the hot fix number. INSTALLATION STEPS: Step 1: Extract the contents of the downloaded hot fix bundle to a temporary directory. For example: $ cd /tmp $ tar -xf $HOME/e9bx05h6.tar assuming the bundle was downloaded to the installer's $HOME directory The tar command will create a directory named e9bx05 that contains all of the individual hot fix packages that will be installed. Step 2: Login as the same userid that installed SAS and invoke the SAS Setup $ cd /usr/lib/sas913 $ ./sassetup Step 3: From the Primary Menu select Run Setup Utilities Primary Menu ------------ 1. (1) 3 Step 6: Specify the directory where the downloaded bundle was extracted in STEP 1 (for example, /tmp/e9bx05) Enter the full directory path that contains all of the hot fixes that are to be installed. All hot fixes in the directory specified will be installed EXCEPT for hot fixes that have been previously applied. Hot fixes in this directory that have been previously applied will NOT be reapplied. All configuration file updates and utility configurations are handled by the installation. (Optional) Step 7: From the Technical Support Tools Menu select List all installed hotfixes Technical Support Tools Menu ---------------------------- 1. Run Revcheck tool to check system settings 2. (3) 3 Step 8: Verify the bundle was installed To verify that the bundle was installed, invoke SAS. The following Note should appear in the SAS LOG: NOTE: (E9BX05) SAS 9.1.3 SP 4 Step 9: Update the '-jreoptions' option in the SAS configuration file To fully implement the fix for SN-030898 Slow Processing when using the PROC INFOMAPS procedure http://support.sas.com/kb/30/898.html add the following option to the '-jreoptions' option in your SAS configuration file: -DProcInfoMaps.Verify=NO Note: The '-DProcInfoMaps.Verify=NO' is case-sensitive and should be specified exactly as documented. To fully implement the fix for SN-030897 Error with PROC INFOMAPS when the data source is an OLAP Cube and the password is not stored in the metadata http://support.sas.com/kb/30/897.html add the following option to the '-jreoptions' option in your SAS configuration file. This option is needed if the default authentication domain of your workspace servers is something other than DefaultAuth. -DProcInfoMaps.authDomain= The jreoptions can also be specified on your sas command line. For example: sas -jreoptions (-DProcInfoMaps.Verify=NO -DProcInfoMaps.AuthDomain=LDAPAuth) sas -jreoptions (-DProcInfoMaps.Verify=NO) sas -jreoptions (-DProcInfoMaps.AuthDomain=LDAPAuth) STEP 10: Modify omaconfig.xml file in order to fully implement the fix for Problem Note 33984: Poor performance occurs in client applications when the metadata environment contains a large number of repositories http://support.sas.com/kb/33/984.html After installing this bundle edit your omaconfig.xml file in Lev1/SASMain and add the tag just above the tag, for example: A Metadata Server re-start is required in order to pick up changes in this bundle. This completes the installation of hot fix E9BX05 on HPUX.
