INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX E9BC36 SOLARIS 64BIT FIX INFORMATION: The hot fix E9BC36 addresses the issue(s) in SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) of Base SAS software on Solaris 64bit as documented in the "Issue(s) Addressed" section of the hot fix download page: http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/e9_sbcs_prod_list.html#e9bc36 IMPORTANT NOTE(S): 1. You must have SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) and SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4 installed on your system before applying this hot fix. 2. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine. 3. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix. 4. During hot fix installation files are extracted to /tmp. Be sure to check the space requirement on the download page to verify that sufficient space is available before initiating the download. 5. When applying multiple hot fixes at one time (See Step 6, Option 1) it is important that the directory specified contains only 9.1.3 hot fix files. Files other than 9.1.3 hot fixes will generate errors during the installation process. 6. Hot fixes should be installed under the same user account that performed the original SAS installation. 7. Changes to the SAS configuration file are required to fully implement the fixes in this hot fix. Follow the instructions in Step 8 below after installing the hot fix. FILE INFORMATION: The hot fix package that is downloaded is in tar format. The name of the tar file is e9bc36s6.tar, and it contains the following updated files: * sasioime.e9bc36 the replacement executable containing the hot fix * sasioime a link to sasioime.e9bc36 * sas.iquery.dataservices.jar.e9bc36 the replacement jar containing the hot fix * sas.iquery.metadata.jar.e9bc36 the replacement jar containing the hot fix * e9bc36s6.aud a hot fix identifier file that will allow Technical Support to determine which fixes have been applied to a system * e9bc36s6.txt a copy of these installation instructions; this file is installed in !SASROOT/hotfix/doc INSTALLATION STEPS: In these instructions, the directory where SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) is installed is: /usr/lib/sas913 Step 1: Download the hot fix or group of hot fixes that are to be installed to a directory accessible to the SAS Setup. Note: You must NOT extract the contents of the downloaded tar file(s) before proceeding to Step 2. Option 1: Apply multiple hot fixes at one time: Enter the full directory path that contains all of the hot fixes that are to be installed. All hot fixes in the directory specified will be installed EXCEPT for hot fixes that have been previously applied. Hot fixes in this directory that have been previously applied will NOT be reapplied. IMPORTANT: This directory should not contain any files other than 9.1.3 hot fixes. Files other than 9.1.3 hot fixes will generate errors during the installation process. Option 2: Apply one hot fix at a time: Specify the full path and filename for the single hot fix that is to be installed. (3) 3 Step 8: Update the '-jreoptions' option in the SAS configuration file To fully implement the fix for SN-030898 Slow Processing when using the PROC INFOMAPS procedure http://support.sas.com/kb/30/898.html add the following option to the '-jreoptions' option in your SAS configuration file: -DProcInfoMaps.Verify=NO Note: The '-DProcInfoMaps.Verify=NO' is case-sensitive and should be specified exactly as documented. To fully implement the fix for SN-030897 Error with PROC INFOMAPS when the data source is an OLAP Cube and the password is not stored in the metadata http://support.sas.com/kb/30/897.html add the following option to the '-jreoptions' option in your SAS configuration file. This option is needed if the default authentication domain of your workspace servers is something other than DefaultAuth. -DProcInfoMaps.authDomain= The jreoptions can also be specified on your sas command line.
