INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 82QC02 ON AIX 64 BIT


BEFORE DOWNLOADING:


The hot fix 82QC02 addresses the issue(s) in Release 8.2 (TS2M0) 
of SAS/QC software on AIX 64 bit as documented in SAS Note(s):  

      SN-004863 The column headings on the parameters tab under FIT
                DETAILS are incorrectly labeled in the ADX Interface   
      SN-008913 Plots for the residuals and normal scores for the residuals
                will be incorrectly displayed in the ADX Interface

The hot fix package that is downloaded is in tar format.  The name 
of the tar file is 82qc02r6.tar, and it contains the following files:

      * xadx.sas7bcat.82qc02
             the replacement catalog containing the hot fix

      * xadx.sas7bcat
             a link to xadx.sas7bcat.82qc02

      * sasoqc1.82qc02
             the replacement executable containing the hot fix

      * sasoqc1
             a link to sasoqc1.82qc02

      * saspltm.82qc02
             the replacement executable containing the hot fix

      * saspltm
             a link to saspltm.82qc02

      * 82qc02r6.aud
             a hot fix identifier file that will allow Technical Support
             to determine which fixes have been applied to a system

      * 82qc02r6.txt
             a copy of these installation instructions; this file is installed
             in !SASROOT/hotfix/doc 



IMPORTANT NOTE(S):

1.  You must have Release 8.2 (TS2M0) installed on your system before 
    applying this hot fix.



AFTER DOWNLOADING:

The following instructions describe the steps for installing the files listed 
above.  In this example, !SASROOT, the directory where Release 8.2 (TS2M0) is 
installed, is:

      /usr/lib/sas8


STEP 1:
Assuming the tar file is downloaded to the user's HOME directory, follow 
these procedures to install the package.

      $> cd /usr/lib/sas8
      $> tar xf $HOME/82qc02r6.tar
           

STEP 2:
Once the tar command is complete, it is necessary to edit the config file,
!SASROOT/sasv8.cfg.  

      1.  The following line must be added as the first line of the 
          !SASROOT/sasv8.cfg file:

              -path !SASROOT/hotfix/sasexe

          Do not modify any existing -PATH options in the !SASROOT/sasv8.cfg file.


      2.  Locate the -sashelp option in the config file and change it as 
          follows:

          The default -sashelp option in the sasv8.cfg file appears as:

              -sashelp ( '!SASROOT/sascfg' '!SASROOT/sashelp' )

          This should be amended to appear as:

              -sashelp ('!SASROOT/hotfix/sashelp' '!SASROOT/sascfg' '!SASROOT/sashelp' )


          The path !SASROOT/hotfix/sashelp must appear first.

          Please be extremely careful not to modify existing paths in the 
          current -sashelp configuration option.


STEP 3:
Change the ownership (using the chown command) and permissions (using
the chmod command) on the files in the !SASROOT/hotfix/sasexe directory 
to match the ownership and permissions on the files in the 
!SASROOT/sasexe directory.



This completes the installation of hot fix 82QC02 on AIX 64 bit.
