INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX BUNDLE 82bx08

IMPORTANT NOTE(S):

1.  You must have Release 8.2 (TS2M0) installed on your system before 
    applying this hot fix.

2.  You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine
    and all currently active SAS sessions must be terminated before applying 
    this hot fix.

3.  If 82bx08 is being applied to a Release 8.2 (TS2M0) image located 
    on a SERVER, then the updated "sashost.dll", which is supplied in 
    82bx08, must also be applied to any CLIENT machines which access 
    the Release 8.2 (TS2M0) server image.
    The updated "sashost.dll" can be copied from the SERVER to the 
    !SASROOT directory (the directory where Release 8.2 TS2M0 is installed)
    on each CLIENT.

4.  The correct installation of the updated "sashost.dll" can be verified on 
    Windows NT SERVER and CLIENT machines by viewing the "Properties" of 
    "sashost.dll" and confirming that the "File version" is 8.00.1069086513. 
    The updated sashost.dll "File version" for Windows 2000 SERVER and CLIENT 
    machines is 8.0.16312.63281. 
    The updated sashost.dll "File version" when installed to a Windows XP
    machine is 8.0.16312.63281.

5.  Before installing the updated SAS/CONNECT SAS Job Spawner included in this 
    bundle, you must first delete the existing spawner service and re-install 
    it after applying this bundle. Failing to do so will prevent the spawner 
    fix from working properly. Refer to TS-638 at

    for additional information about installing the PC spawner program.


AFTER DOWNLOADING:

The hot fix package downloaded is a self extracting executable named 
82bx08wn.exe.  Launching the executable will initiate the install wizard, 
which will guide you through the setup process.



This completes the installation of hot fix 82bx08 on Windows.
