INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 82BB97 ON OS/2


BEFORE DOWNLOADING:


The hot fix 82BB97 addresses the issue(s) in Release 8.2 (TS2M0) 
of Base SAS software on OS/2 as documented in SAS Note(s):  

      SN-004574 Spanned headers in PROC REPORT may cause incorrect
                cellwidth when using ODS   
      SN-004501 PROC TABULATE repeats statistics in all ODS destinations
                except listing and output data sets   
      SN-005596 Output data set may not be generated when using the
                ODS OUTPUT statement     
      SN-009281 The OVERPRINT system option does not work correctly
                with the ODS PRINTER and PDF destinations   
      SN-010318 User-defined format can not be updated when applied
                to a variable created with ODS OUTPUT   
      SN-010411 Customized template may cause observations to not appear
                in ODS PRINTER output   
      SN-005994 Using a PREIMAGE= specification and STARTPAGE= with
                ODS PRINTER causes errors   
      SN-009366 ODS PRINTER does not close registry keys properly

The hot fix package downloaded is a self extracting executable named 
82bb97o2.exe which will install the following files:


      * sasmrk.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * sashtm.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * sasxml.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * sasrtf.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * saspso.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * sasdat.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * sasods.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * saspdpcl.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * saspdpdf.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * saspdpsl.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * sasxug.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * 82bb97o2.aud
             a hot fix identifier file that will allow Technical Support
             to determine which fixes have been applied to a system

      * 82bb97o2.txt
             a copy of these installation instructions; this file is installed
             in !SASROOT\core\sasinst\hotfix 


IMPORTANT NOTES:

1.  You must have Release 8.2 (TS2M0) installed on your system before 
    applying this hot fix.

2.  You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.
    
3.  All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must 
    be terminated before applying this hot fix.

4.  82bb97o2.exe must be run from an OS2 command-line and must be launched 
    from !SASROOT (the directory where Release 8.2 (TS2M0) is installed).   



AFTER DOWNLOADING:

In this example, it is assumed that !SASROOT is: 
c:\sas


STEP 1
Change to the !SASROOT directory,
  
        [c:\] cd c:\sas


STEP 2
Move the downloaded executable to the !SASROOT directory.  Assuming 82bb97o2.exe 
is downloaded to c:\myfiles, 

        [c:\sas] move c:\myfiles\82bb97o2.exe \sas\82bb97o2.exe


STEP 3
Back-up the original file(s),

        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sasmrk.dll sasmrk.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sashtm.dll sashtm.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sasxml.dll sasxml.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sasrtf.dll sasrtf.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\saspso.dll saspso.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sasdat.dll sasdat.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sasods.dll sasods.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\saspdpcl.dll saspdpcl.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\saspdpdf.dll saspdpdf.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\saspdpsl.dll saspdpsl.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sasxug.dll sasxug.000


STEP 4
Assuming you are still in c:\sas, launch the executable.
The "/directories" option is required to maintain the proper
directory structure during file extraction,

        [c:\sas] 82bb97o2.exe /directories



This completes the installation of hot fix 82BB97 on OS/2.
