INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 82BB79 ON WINDOWS


BEFORE DOWNLOADING:


The hot fix 82BB79 addresses the issue(s) in Release 8.2 (TS2M0) 
of Base SAS software on Windows as documented in SAS Note(s):  

      SN-006975 The SAS System Release 8.2 PC Spawner Program may stop
                running unexpectedly   
      SN-010003 Multiple SAS/CONNECT PC Spawner Programs can be run
                at the same time     
      SN-010237 Hotfix 82bb52 causes SAS/CONNECT SIGNON problems     
      SN-011006 Attempting to run multiple Spawners may fail.

IMPORTANT NOTE(S):

1.  You must have Release 8.2 (TS2M0) installed on your system before 
    applying this hot fix.

2.  You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine
    and all currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers
    must be terminated before applying this hot fix.


AFTER DOWNLOADING:

The hot fix package downloaded is a self extracting executable named 
82bb79wn.exe.  Launching the executable will initiate the install wizard, 
which will guide you through the setup process.  The following files will
be installed:

      * spawner.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * 82bb79wn.aud
             a hot fix identifier file that will allow Technical Support
             to determine which fixes have been applied to a system

      * 82bb79wn.txt
             a copy of these installation instructions; this file is installed
             in !SASROOT\core\sasinst\hotfix 



This completes the installation of hot fix 82BB79 on Windows.
