INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 82BB46 ON OS/2


BEFORE DOWNLOADING:


The hot fix 82BB46 addresses the issue(s) in Release 8.2 (TS2M0) 
of Base SAS software on OS/2 as documented in SAS Note(s):  

      SN-005210 LINE statement may display incorrect data with COMPUTE
                BEFORE and the FLOW option   
      SN-005223 BREAK statement and GROUP under an ACROSS may cause
                an error     
      SN-005211 GROUP values under ACROSS may be missing if BREAK/COMPUTE
                AFTER variable is requested   
      SN-005767 Nested ACROSS variables may result in system specific
                errors     
      SN-005770 Row variable values may be printed under wrong variable
                column     
      SN-005766 Rows of data may be missing from output with multiple
                ACROSS variables in PROC REPORT   
      SN-007784 PROC REPORT quantile values may be incorrect     
      SN-007785 ACROSS values may be missing in the REPORT WINDOW of
                PROC REPORT     
      SN-007786 BY statement in PROC REPORT may cause memory problems     
      SN-007888 All but the first column under an ACROSS variable may
                contain missing values   
      SN-005776 CALL DEFINE specified in COMPUTE block may produce
                an abend     
      SN-009218 Data missing when ANALYSIS variable is requested over

The hot fix package downloaded is a self extracting executable named 
82bb46o2.exe which will install the following files:


      * sasrepmn.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * sasrepwd.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * saszrepo.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * sastrepo.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * uwudefin.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * sasrep7.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * sasrepor.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * 82bb46o2.aud
             a hot fix identifier file that will allow Technical Support
             to determine which fixes have been applied to a system

      * 82bb46o2.txt
             a copy of these installation instructions; this file is installed
             in !SASROOT\core\sasinst\hotfix 


IMPORTANT NOTES:

1.  You must have Release 8.2 (TS2M0) installed on your system before 
    applying this hot fix.

2.  82bb46o2.exe must be run from an OS2 command-line and must be launched 
    from !SASROOT (the directory where Release 8.2 (TS2M0) is installed).   



AFTER DOWNLOADING:

In this example, it is assumed that !SASROOT is: 
c:\sas


STEP 1
Change to the !SASROOT directory,
  
        [c:\] cd c:\sas


STEP 2
Move the downloaded executable to the !SASROOT directory.  Assuming 82bb46o2.exe 
is downloaded to c:\myfiles, 

        [c:\sas] move c:\myfiles\82bb46o2.exe \sas\82bb46o2.exe


STEP 3
Back-up the original file(s),

        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sasrepmn.dll sasrepmn.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sasrepwd.dll sasrepwd.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\saszrepo.dll saszrepo.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sastrepo.dll sastrepo.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\uwudefin.dll uwudefin.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sasrep7.dll sasrep7.000
        [c:\sas] ren c:\sas\core\sasexe\sasrepor.dll sasrepor.000


STEP 4
Assuming you are still in c:\sas, launch the executable.
The "/directories" option is required to maintain the proper
directory structure during file extraction,

        [c:\sas] 82bb46o2.exe /directories



This completes the installation of hot fix 82BB46 on OS/2.
