INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 82BB12 ON WINDOWS


BEFORE DOWNLOADING:


The hot fix 82BB12 addresses the issue(s) in Release 8.2 (TS2M0) 
of Base SAS software on Windows as documented in SAS Note(s):  

      SN-004619 Risk Dimensions documentation will not display after
                SAS System Help has been invoked   
      SN-005042 Margin settings are ignored in Release 8.2.     
      SN-005201 Read-access violation submitting a simple data step
                on Windows ME     
      SN-005938 The SAS system abends after you select File from the
                menu bar     
      SN-004882 FIND and REPEAT FIND (RFIND) keys do not work in the
                Enhanced Editor in Release 8.2   
      SN-006943 Combo Box may not display blank value using Dropdown
                List     
      SN-007007 Abnormal SAS termination entering a long string in
                a Text Pad Control     
      SN-007766 When opening SAS System Help, browser opens and "The
                page cannot be found" error message appears   
      SN-008335 Scrolling the wheel of an Intelli Mouse while the END
                command is issued crashes SAS   
      SN-008755 Webhound Child Processes may hang during the reporting
                phase

IMPORTANT NOTE(S):

1.  You must have Release 8.2 (TS2M0) installed on your system before 
    applying this hot fix.

2.  You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine
    and all currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers
    must be terminated before applying this hot fix.


AFTER DOWNLOADING:

The hot fix package downloaded is a self extracting executable named 
82bb12wn.exe.  Launching the executable will initiate the install wizard, 
which will guide you through the setup process.  The following files will
be installed:

      * sasvwu.dll
             the replacement module containing the hot fix

      * 82bb12wn.aud
             a hot fix identifier file that will allow Technical Support
             to determine which fixes have been applied to a system

      * 82bb12wn.txt
             a copy of these installation instructions; this file is installed
             in !SASROOT\core\sasinst\hotfix 



This completes the installation of hot fix 82BB12 on Windows.
