INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 82R302 ON COMPAQ TRU64 UNIX


BEFORE DOWNLOADING:


The hot fix 82R302 addresses the issue(s) in Release 8.2 (TS2M0) 
of SAS/ACCESS Interface to R/3 software on Compaq Tru64 UNIX as documented in SAS Note(s):  

      SN-007103 Extract job continues to run when error encountered
                without abending in ACCESS to R/3 and ACCESS to SAP BW   

which may be reviewed at:

The hot fix package that is downloaded is in tar format.  The name 
of the tar file is 82r302ap.tar, and it contains the following files:

      * sr3.sas7bcat.82r302
             the replacement catalog containing the hot fix

      * sr3.sas7bcat
             a link to sr3.sas7bcat.82r302

      * extrr3tb.sas
             the replacement autocall containing the hot fix

      * extrr3fl.sas
             the replacement autocall containing the hot fix

      * 82r302ap.aud
             a hot fix identifier file that will allow Technical Support
             to determine which fixes have been applied to a system

      * 82r302ap.txt
             a copy of these installation instructions; this file is installed
             in !SASROOT/hotfix/doc 



IMPORTANT NOTE(S):

1.  You must have Release 8.2 (TS2M0) installed on your system before 
    applying this hot fix.



AFTER DOWNLOADING:

The following instructions describe the steps for installing the files listed 
above.  In this example, !SASROOT, the directory where Release 8.2 (TS2M0) is 
installed, is:

      /usr/lib/sas8


STEP 1:
Make a backup copy of the autocalls being replaced by this hot fix.

      $> cd /usr/lib/sas8
      $> cp sasautos/extrr3tb.sas sasautos/extrr3tb.sas.bak
      $> cp sasautos/extrr3fl.sas sasautos/extrr3fl.sas.bak


STEP 2:
Assuming the tar file is downloaded to the user's HOME directory, follow 
these procedures to install the package.

      $> cd /usr/lib/sas8
      $> tar xf $HOME/82r302ap.tar
           

STEP 3:
Once the tar command is complete, it is necessary to edit the config file,
!SASROOT/sasv8.cfg.  Locate the -sashelp option in the config file and
change it as follows:

The default -sashelp option in the sasv8.cfg file appears as:

      -sashelp ( '!SASROOT/sascfg' '!SASROOT/sashelp' )

This should be amended to appear as:

     -sashelp ('!SASROOT/hotfix/sashelp' '!SASROOT/sascfg' '!SASROOT/sashelp' )


The path !SASROOT/hotfix/sashelp must appear first.

Please be extremely careful not to modify existing paths in the current -sashelp
configuration option.



This completes the installation of hot fix 82R302 on Compaq Tru64 UNIX.
