INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 24SP03 ON WINDOWS The hot fix 24SP03 addresses the issue(s) in 2.4 of SAS Strategic Performance Management software on Windows as documented in the "Issue(s) Addressed" section of the hot fix download page: http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/spm24.html#24sp03 IMPORTANT NOTE(S): 1. You must have SAS Strategic Performance Management 2.4 installed on your system before applying this hot fix. 2. The hot fix must be installed using the same userid who performed the initial SAS Strategic Performance Management 2.4 installation. 3. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine. 4. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix. INSTALLATION: STEP 1: Extract the contents of the downloaded file The hot fix package downloaded is a self extracting executable named 24sp03wn.exe. This executable file contains the script and supporting files to update Strategic Performance Management Data, Metadata and Clients. To install this hot fix follow these steps: Launch 24sp03wn.exe. This extracts three components of this hot fix into C:\24SP03. The three components extracted are: CMExcelAddin.exe contains common Excel Add-in updates DEClient_WL.exe contains Dimension Editor client updates Hotfix_X4_R3_Win_WL.exe contains Mid-tier updates Use the following instructions to apply the individual components that apply to your system. STEP 2: Extracting Hotfix_X4_R3_Win_WL.exe to build mid-tier and data-tier bat files 1. Run Hotfix_X4_R3_Win_WL.exe to extract the hot fix installation files onto your server into a directory (for example, c:\SAS). Running the Hotfix_X4_R3_Win_WL.exe will create a hotfix directory named Hotfix_X4_R3_Win_WL inside the directory specified during execution. This is the 'Hotfix directory' and is the location of the files used below. If you are running a multiple-server deployment, be sure to extract the files on both the mid-tier and data-tier servers. The extract contains several directories and a set of files in the Hotfix directory, including Readme.txt, hotfixEnv.cmd, Hotfix_Datatier.bat and Hotfix_Midtier.bat. Additional instructions are also included in the Readme.txt file. 2. Edit the hotfixEnv.cmd file to specify the location of your local SAS Solutions Configuration directory. By default, this location is c:\SAS\SASSolutionsConfig. 3. To update a data-tier environment (that is, the machine or machines that host SAS 9.1, the SAS Metadata Server, etc.) a) Run Hotfix_Datatier.bat Note that is safe to ignore the following messages if you receive them: “Error: Cannot open file soltnsmid.properties; ignoring”. and "System error 1060 has occurred. The specified service does not exist as an installed service. b) Execute the following MySQL command. The 'mysql' executable must be in your path. mysql --user=mysqladmin --password=sqladminpassword < hotfix_directory\Add\SPM\spm_formulacache.sql 4. To update a mid-tier environment (that is, the machine that hosts the Weblogic application server and SAS services) a) Make sure that the SAS Managed Server under Weblogic and the SAS Services are stopped. b) Run Hotfix_Midtier.bat. Note that it is safe to ignore the message “Error: Cannot open file soltnsdata.properties; ignoring”. It is also safe to ignore messages where locations could not be found under the 'bea' application directory. This means that the hot fix installation could not find products that are likely not installed. For example, a message that would be generated if SAS Human Capital Management is not installed would look like the following: "C:\bea\user_projects\domains\SASSolutions\applications\sas.solutions. humancapital.ear does not exist" c) The Weblogic cache directories need to be cleared in order to pick up the .jar changes in the hot fix. Delete the *contents* of the .wlnotdelete directories listed below. Note: Depending on your configuration, not all of the directories in the list might exist. \user_projects\SASSolutions\FinanceServer\.wlnotdelete \user_projects\SASSolutions\FoundationServer\.wlnotdelete \user_projects\SASSolutions\HRServer\.wlnotdelete \user_projects\SASSolutions\SASODCSServer\.wlnotdelete \user_projects\SASSolutions\SolutionServer\.wlnotdelete where is the directory weblogic is installed, normally c:\bea. d) Restart SAS Services, the ODCS Managed Server, and the SAS Managed Server. Restart all other Managed Servers that are being used in your configuration. STEP 3: Installing CMExcelAddin.exe Launching this executable will initiate the install wizard, which will guide you through the setup process. The setup progress will install the updated files to your client. STEP 4: Installing DEClient_WL.exe Launching this executable will initiate the install wizard, which will guide you through the setup process. The setup progress will install the updated files to your client. This completes the installation of hot fix 24SP03 on Windows.
