If hot fixes 913JPS04 and 913IDP02 have not yet been applied, you may use the instructions at http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/spm/21sp05/win/x1_HotFix5.pdf to complete the combined installation of all of the required hot fixes. If 913JPS04 and 913IDP02 hot fixes have already been applied, continue with the instructions below. AFTER DOWNLOADING: The hot fix package downloaded is a self extracting exe named 21SP05wn.exe. This exe file contains the script and supporting files to update SPM Data, Metadata and Clients. To install this hot fix follow these steps: 1. Launch 21SP05wn.exe. This extracts three components of this hot fix into C:\21SP05. The three components extracted are: CMExcelAddin.exe contains common Excel Add-in updates DEClient.exe contains Dimension Editor client updates sssMidtier.exe contains Mid-tier updates Use the instructions below to apply the individual components that apply to your system. Install pre-requisite hot fixes --------------------------------------------- Hot fixes 913jps04 and 913idp02 must be applied before proceeding with the application of 21sp05. These hot fixes can also be downloaded from http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/spm21.html Before Installing -------------------------- If a prior hotfix has been applied: 1. Locate the HISTORY.MF file in the SASSolutionsConfig directory. (Typically, this is located in C:\SAS\SASSolutionsConfig) 2. Open HISTORY.MF in a text editor. 3. Review the last entry in the file. If the Name value ends in "beta", edit the file and remove the "beta" characters from the Name string. For example, if the Name field contains x1SLNS3beta, edit the string to read simply x1SLNS3. Installing sssMidtier.exe -------------------------------------- 1. Run sssMidtier.exe to extract the hotfix installation files onto your server into a directory (for example, c:\SAS). Running the sssMidtier.exe will create a hotfix directory inside the directory specified during execution, named Hotfix_yyyymmdd, where yyyymmdd is the build date of the hotfix. This is the 'Hotfix directory' and is the location of the files used below. If you are running a multiple-server deployment, be sure to extract the files on both the mid-tier and data tier servers. The extract contains several directories and a set of files in the Hotfix directory, including Readme.txt, hotfixEnv.cmd, Hotfix_Datatier.bat and Hotfix_Midtier.bat. Additional instructions are also included in the Readme.txt file. 2. Edit the hotfixEnv.cmd file to specify the location of your local SAS Solutions Configuration directory. By default, this location is c:\SAS\SASSolutionsConfig. 3. To update a data tier environment (that is, the machine or machines that host SAS 9.1, the SAS Metadata Server, etc.), run Hotfix_Datatier.bat Note that is safe to ignore the following messages if you receive them: “Error: Cannot open file soltnsmid.properties; ignoring”. and "System error 1060 has occurred. The specified service does not exist as an installed service. Could Not Find C:\Program Files\SAS\SAS 9.1\soltnsdata\sasmisc\sas.solutions.core.jar The service name is invalid." 4. To update a mid tier environment (that is, the machine that hosts the Weblogic application server and SAS services) a) Make sure that the SAS Managed Server under Weblogic and the SAS Services are stopped. b) Run Hotfix_Midtier.bat. Note that it is safe to ignore the message “Error: Cannot open file soltnsmid.properties; ignoring”. c) Restart SAS Services and the SAS Managed Server. d) Please see the readme.txt file and the readme-DAV.txt file for further instructions on recommended updates to DAV content. Default DAV content is automatically backed up, customized content is not automatically backed up. When backupDAV is run, it will produce errors in the command window and in the weblogic server window for missing templates. It is safe to ignore these errors. They will read : Null metadata for item.... At the end, you will see the message: 'You have successfully backed up DAV content for en, Please repeat for any other languages.' You can further verify the backup process by checking for the templates in: [hotfix directory]\backup\Content_FM\Deployed\[locale] Installing CMExcelAddin.exe --------------------------------------------- Launching this executable will initiate the install wizard, which will guide you through the setup process. The setup progress will install the updated files to your client. Installing DEClient.exe ------------------------------------ Launching this executable will initiate the install wizard, which will guide you through the setup process. The setup progress will install the updated files to your client. This completes the installation of hot fix 21SP05 on Windows.
