INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 913SMC03 ON AIX 64BIT


BEFORE DOWNLOADING:

The hot fix 913SMC03 addresses the issue(s) in 9.1.3 of SAS Management Console 
software on AIX 64bit as documented in the "Issue(s) Addressed" section of
the hot fix download page:

IMPORTANT NOTE(S):

1.  You must have SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) and SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4
    installed on your system before applying this hot fix.

2.  You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine
    and all currently active SAS sessions must be terminated before applying 
    this hot fix.

3. Additional requirements are SAS Foundation Services (BI Manager) 1.4. To determine the version of BI        Manager Installed on your system, go into the SAS Management Console and click on the root node of the BI        Manager and select 'About' for Implementation Version 1.4.0.0.20060626.74052.

4. Manual steps are necessary to complete the installation of this hotfix after download and installation.  Please            read all instruction below.

AFTER DOWNLOADING:

To install this hotfix 

1.  Extract the contents of 913smc03r6.tar into a temporary directory, for 
example /tmp/913smc03.


         $> mkdir /tmp/913smc03

         $> cd /tmp/913smc03

         $> tar -xf $HOME/913smc03r6.tar

    where $HOME is the location to where the tar file was downloaded.


The tar command will extract the following files to the temporary directory:

	    r64/Setup_AIX_Power
	    r64/media.inf 
	    r64/setup.jar


2.  Verify that Setup_AIX_Power has execute permission.  If it does not, use
the 'chmod' command to make it executable:


         $> cd /tmp/913smc03/r64
         $> chmod 755 Setup_AIX_Power


3.  Initiate the installation wizard


         $>  export DISPLAY=<nodename>:0           <==== set your display

         $>  cd /tmp/913smc03/r64 

         $>  ./Setup_AIX_Power 


This will initiate the Java install wizard.  Follow the prompts to complete the
installation.

2.  To verify the installation of the hot fix confirm that the file(s) in the location(s)
below have been updated to the level indicated by the date provided:

    <sashome>/SASManagementConsole/9.1/plugins/sas.smc.schedulemgr.jar 
                  Date: 11\15\06 (EST)   

      <sashome>/SASManagementConsole/9.1/plugins/sas.smc.schedule.remote.jar  
                  Date:: 11\15\06 (EST)   

MANUAL STEPS:

  *   Bring up SMC and login as an administrator or unrestricted user
  *   Expand the Metadata Manager.
