INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 421ri04 ON LINUX FOR INTEL


BEFORE DOWNLOADING:

The hot fix 421ri04 addresses the issue(s) in 4.2.1 of SAS Risk Dimensions
software on Linux for Intel as documented in the "Issue(s) Addressed" section 
of the hot fix download page

IMPORTANT NOTE(S):

1.  You must have SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) and SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 3
    or higher installed on your system before applying this hot fix.

2  You must have SAS Risk Dimensions 4.2.1 installed on your 
    system before applying this hot fix.
    


FILE INFORMATION:

The hot fix package that is downloaded is in compressed tar format.  The 
name of the tar file is 421ri04lx.tar.Z, and it contains the following updated 
files:

             the replacement executable containing the hot fix
      * sasriska
             a link to sasriska.421ri04

      * sasacte.421ri04
             the replacement executable containing the hot fix
      * sasacte
             a link to sasacte.421ri04

      * sasriskg.421ri04

INSTALLATION STEPS:

In these instructions, the directory where SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) is installed is:

       /usr/lib/sas913


STEP 1: 
Assuming the compressed tar file is downloaded to the user's HOME directory, 
follow these procedures to install the package.

      $> cd /usr/lib/sas913
      $> uncompress -c $HOME/421ri04lx.tar  |  tar -xf -
           

STEP 2:
Once the tar command is complete, the following line must be added as the
first line of the !SASROOT/sasv9.cfg file:

      -path !SASROOT/hotfix/sasexe

Do not modify any existing -PATH options in the !SASROOT/sasv9.cfg file.


STEP 3:
Execute the script that will update the hot fix installation history file.  This
script MUST be executed from the !SASROOT directory.

      $> pwd
           /usr/lib/sas913
      $> install/admin/hotfix/hist_upd
 


This completes the installation of hot fix 421ri04 on Linux for Intel.
