INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 12MITIBRIDGE01 ON WINDOWS


BEFORE DOWNLOADING:

The hot fix 12MITIBRIDGE01 addresses the issue(s) in 1.2 of SAS Metadata Bridges
software on Windows as documented in the "Issue(s) Addressed" section of
the hot fix download page.


IMPORTANT NOTE(S):

1.  You must have SAS Metadata Bridges 1.2 installed on your 
system before applying this hot fix.

2.  You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER 
machine.

3.  All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers 
must be terminated before applying this hot fix.

4.  The hot fix installer will update SAS Data Integration Studio 3.4  and 
SAS Management Console plugins if these products are installed on the machine.


INSTALLING THIS HOT FIX:

These instructions assume that SAS Data Integration Studio and SAS 
Management Console have been installed in the default locations as follows:
    <!SASHOME>\SASETLStudio\9.1 and
    <!SASHOME>\SASManagementConsole\9.1 
If you have installed these products in a different location, you will 
need to modify the paths in these instructions accordingly.


1.  Technical Support strongly suggests that you back up the files 
being replaced by this hot fix.  You should always try to include the 
current date in the name of the backup file created to distinguish 
between versions of backup files.  By doing this you will maintain a 
history of the file, which will be helpful when multiple iterations of 
a hot fix have been applied to the same file.  
For example,

    cp  sas.foo.jar  sas.foo.jar.07012006

where 07012006 is the date when the hot fix is applied.

The .<date> extension MUST be appended AFTER the .jar extension as it 
appears above.

The files that should be backed up for this hot fix are:

   
     <!SASHOME>\SASETLStudio\9.1\plugins\sas.oma.metaexchange.jar  
     <!SASHOME>\SASManagementConsole\9.1\plugins\sas.oma.metaexchange.jar  
     
	
2.  Launching  the executable, will initiate a Java install wizard 
and will guide you through the extraction of the updated components.  


3.  To verify the installation of the hot fix, confirm that the files 
in the locations below have been updated to the level indicated by the 
date provided:


      <!SASHOME>\SASETLStudio\9.1\plugins\sas.oma.metaexchange.jar  
              Date: 07/26/07 (EST)

      <!SASHOME>\SASManagementConsole\9.1\plugins\sas.oma.metaexchange.jar  
              Date: 07/26/07 (EST)
              

This completes the installation of hotfix 12mitibridge01 on WINDOWS.
