INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 531JB02 

Windows and Unix


BEFORE DOWNLOADING:

The hot fix 531JB02 addresses the issue(s) in 5.31 of Platform JobScheduler 
for SAS software as documented in the "Issue(s) Addressed" section of 
the hot fix download page:

   http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/jbs531.html#531jb02


The following packages are available for download:

   For Windows:  531jb02wn.exe

   For Unix:     531jb02ux.tar

Download the package(s) appropriate for the operating system(s) on which you 
will be installing.



IMPORTANT NOTE(S):

1.  You must have Platform JobScheduler for SAS 5.31 installed on your 
    system before applying this hot fix.

2.  JobScheduler for SAS 5.31 is installed with SAS 9.1.2 and SAS 9.1.3.

3.  The Job Scheduler Server must be stopped before applying this hot fix.
 


AFTER DOWNLOADING:

STEP 1:  Extract the contents of the downloaded file

Using a tool appropriate for your operating system, extract the contents of 
the downloaded file.   


For Windows:

    Launching 531jb02wn.exe will extract the file "jobflow.jar" and place it in:

        C:\531jb02


For Unix: 

    Extract the contents of the tar file downloaded into a temporary
    directory, for example /tmp/531jb02: 

        $> cd /tmp/
        $> tar -xf $HOME/531jb02ux.tar

    where $HOME is the location to where the compressed tar file was downloaded.

    The directory /tmp/531jb02 should now exist and contain the file jobflow.jar.


STEP 2: Update  jobflow.jar in the Platform Computing JobScheduler directory

*** The Job Scheduler Server must be stopped before proceeding with this step. ***

For Windows:

    Copy the file 

        C:\531jb02\jobflow.jar 

    to 

        <JS_TOP>\5.31\lib\java  
    
    where <JS_TOP> is the root directory of the JobScheduler install,
    ie. C:\Program Files\Platform Computing\JobScheduler


For Unix

    Copy the file 

        /tmp/531jb02/jobflow.jar

    to 

        <JS_TOP>/5.31/lib/java
    
    where <JS_TOP> is the root directory of the JobScheduler install,
    ie. /usr/local/bin/js531/lib/java



STEP 3: Update jobflow.jar in the SAS Management Console plugins directory

*** The Job Scheduler Server must be stopped before proceeding with this step. ***

For Windows:

    Copy the file 

        C:\531jb02\jobflow.jar 

    to 

        <SASMC>\9.1\plugins   
    
    where <SASMC> is the root of the SAS Management Console,
    ie. C:\Program Files\SAS\SASManagementConsole\9.1\plugins


For Unix

    Copy the file 

        /tmp/531jb02/jobflow.jar 

    to 

        <SASMC>/9.1/plugins
    
    where <SASMC> is the root of the SAS Management Console,
    ie. /usr/local/sas912/SASManagementConsole/9.1/plugins



STEP 4: Clean up

For Windows:

    Remove the C:\531jb02 directory and it's contents.


For Unix:

    Remove the /tmp/531jb02 directory and it's contents.




This completes the installation of hot fix 531JB02.
