INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 913JPS02 ON SOLARIS 64BIT


BEFORE DOWNLOADING:

The hot fix 913JPS02 addresses the issue(s) in 9.1.3 of SAS Foundation Services
software on Solaris 64bit as documented in the "Issue(s) Addressed" section of
the hot fix download page:

IMPORTANT NOTE(S):

1.  You must have SAS Foundation Services Release 1.1 installed on your 
    system before applying this hot fix.

2.  You must have SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 2 installed on your system before 
    applying this hot fix.

3.  The installer must be run under the same userid who performed the SAS 9.1.3
    installation.



INSTALLATION:

The hot fix package downloaded is a tar file named 913jps02s6.tar.  


STEP 1:  Extract the contents of the downloaded file

    Extract the contents of the tar file downloaded into a temporary
    directory, for example /tmp.

         $> cd /tmp/

         $> tar -xf $HOME/913jps02s6.tar

    where $HOME is the location to where the tar file was downloaded.

This will create a directory called 913jps02_s64 in the current working directory; this
directory will contain 3 files:

         Setup_Solaris_Sparc  
         media.inf            
         setup.jar


STEP 2:  Initiate the installation wizard

         $>  export DISPLAY=<nodename>:0             <==== set your display

         $>  cd 913jps02_s64

         $>  ./Setup_Solaris_Sparc  

This will initiate the InstallShield Wizard.  Follow the prompts to complete the
installation.


STEP 3:  Configure WebLogic Application

Copy the sas.svc.connection.platform.jar  file from 

         SASHOME/SASFoundationServices/1.1/jars 

to the  original Web applications WEB-INF/lib directory, rebuild the .war file and redeploy the application.  


This completes the installation of hotfix 913jps02 ON SOLARIS 64BIT.
