INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 43HCM01 ON AIX 64BIT


The hot fix package downloaded is a tar file named 43hcm01r6.tar.



IMPORTANT NOTE(S):

1.  You must have SAS Human Capital Management 4.3 installed on your 
    system before applying this hot fix.

2.  The hotfix must be installed using the same userid who performed the 
    initial SAS Human Capital Management 4.3 installation.

3.  You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

4.  All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must 
    be terminated before applying this hot fix.



INSTALLING THIS HOT FIX:


For example purposes in these instructions, the directory where
SAS Human Capital Management 4.3 is installed is:

         /usr/local/SAS

This location may also be referred to as <!SASHOME> and is where you will 
find the directory

         SASHumanCapitalManagement/4.3


1.  Download or copy the hot fix to the <!SASHOME> directory.


2.  Extract the contents of 43hcm01r6.tar to the <!SASHOME> directory.  

         $> cd /usr/local/SAS

         $> tar -xf 43hcm01r6.tar


This will create the hotfix directory in <!SASHOME>, for example, you
will see

         /usr/local/SAS/Hotfix_X3_20061101-UNIX

This directory contains all the files used in the remaining instructions.  It 
contains several directories and a set of files in the Hotfix directory, including 

         Hotfix_Datatier.sh
         Hotfix_Midtier.sh
         Readme.txt
         hotfixEnv.properties

Additional instructions are also included in the Readme.txt file.


3. Edit the hotfixEnv.properties file to specify:

         - the location of your local SAS Solutions Configuration directory 
                  (default: /usr/local/SAS/SASSolutionsConfig)

and 

         - JAVA_HOME
                  (default: /usr/local/WebSphere/AppServer/java/bin) 


4. Update the data-tier environment, i.e. SAS 9.1, the SAS Metadata Server, etc. 

         a.  You must be logged in to the account who performed the original 
             installation, for example, the 'sas' account.

         b.  Change directory to 

                   /usr/local/SAS/Hotfix_X3_20061101-UNIX 

         c.  Run:

                   Hotfix_Datatier.sh 


5. Update the mid-tier environment, i.e. Websphere application server and SAS services.

         a.  Switch user to root

         b.  Change directory 
                   /usr/local/SAS/Hotfix_X3_20061101-UNIX 

         c.  Run:
 
                    Hotfix_Midtier.sh 


6.  Follow instructions to stop (and start) the SAS Sevices and the Websphere 
    application server.



This completes the installation of hot fix 43HCM01 on AIX 64BIT.
