You must stop the SAS Analytics Platform before applying this hotfix. After hotfix installation, you should restart SAS Analytics Platform. 4. You must have the HPF 2.2 hot fix (e9hp02) installed on your server before installing this hot fix. The e9hp02 hot fix can be downloaded from the hot fix download page: http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/e9_sbcs_prod_list.html#e9hp02 Installing the Forecast Server update ------------------------------------- 1. Technical Support strongly suggests that you back up the files being replaced by this hot fix. You should always try to include the current date in the name of the backup file created to distinguish between versions of backup files. By doing this you will maintain a history of the file, which will be helpful when multiple iterations of a hot fix have been applied to the same file. For example, $> cp sas.foo.jar sas.foo.jar.07012006 where 07012006 is the date when the hot fix is applied. The . extension MUST be appended AFTER the .jar extension as it appears above to avoid unexpected results due to jar mismatching. The files that should be backed up for this hot fix are listed in Step #3 below. 2. The hot fix package downloaded is a tar file named 14fos01s6.tar. Extract the contents of the downloaded file: $> tar -xvf 14fos01s6.tar This will create 3 new files in an s64 subdirectory: media.inf setup.jar Setup_Solaris_Sparc 3. Run the setup script: $> cd s64 $> chmod +x Setup_Solaris_Sparc $> Setup_Solaris_Sparc Note that Setup_Solaris_Sparc must have execute permission. This setup command will run an InstallShield wizard which will update the following files: /SASAPCore/apps/Forecasting/lib/sas.forecasting-remote.jar /SASAPCore/apps/Forecasting/webstart/sas.forecasting-swing.jar /SASAPCore/apps/Forecasting/webstart/sas.forecasting-client.jar where is the root directory of the SAS install. 4. Verify that the jar files for Forecast Server listed above now have a date of 05/17/07. This completes the installation of hot fix 14FOS01 on SOLARIS 64BIT
