INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SASŪ 9.4 DBRMs DOWNLOAD ON z/OS SAS 9.4 DBRM member(s) for SAS/ACCESS Interface to DB2 BEFORE DOWNLOADING: This download addresses the fact that the Database Request Modules (DBRMs) members that are needed for the DB2 bind are not included as part of the SAS Depot and must be downloaded separately. The following files will be included: * DBRM94_V10.xmit Partitioned data set (PDS) in XMIT format. This file contains the DBRM members (SAS94 and SAS94X) needed for the bind if you are accessing DB2 V10 New Function Mode (NFM) and running SAS 9.4. * DBRM94_V11.xmit PDS in XMIT format. This file contains the DBRM member (SAS94) needed for the bind if you are accessing DB2 V11 NFM and running SAS 9.4. Note: Starting in DB2 V11, the SAS94X DBRM member is no longer being included because a different DBRM member is not needed for binds for the remote servers. Instead, you can now also use the SAS94 member for the binds for the remote servers. * DBRM94_V12.xmit PDS in XMIT format. This file contains the DBRM member (SAS94) needed for the bind if you are accessing DB2 V12 NFM and running SAS 9.4. Note: Starting in DB2 V11, the SAS94X DBRM member is no longer being included because a different DBRM member is not needed for binds for the remote servers. Instead, you can now also use the SAS94 member for the binds for the remote servers. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: The following instructions describe the steps for extracting the contents of the downloaded files, moving the file(s) to your z/OS system and installing the appropriate DBRM member(s). STEP 1: PRE-ALLOCATE AN XMIT FILE ON z/OS (required) Pre-allocate file under z/OS (for example, 'sas.dbrm94.v10.xmit', 'sas.dbrm94.v11.xmit, or 'sas.dbrm94.v12.xmit') with the following data control blocks (DCBs). Organization : PS Record format : FB Record length : 80 Block size : 3120 STEP 2: USE FTP TO TRANSFER THE XMIT FILE TO z/OS (required) Use File Transfer Protocol (FTP) to transfer the appropriate XMIT file into the newly created file. For example, DBRM94_V10.xmit would be stored in 'sas.dbrm94.v10.xmit' DBRM94_V11.xmit would be stored in 'sas.dbrm94.v11.xmit' and DBRM94_V12.xmit would be stored in 'sas.dbrm94.v12.xmit'. - Download the packaged hot fix to your computer. The packaged hot fix is a is a self extracting executable. Launching the executable extracts the z/OS files to a default location example: C:\Documents and Settings\userid\Local Settings\Temp You are prompted during the extraction process to accept or overwrite the default unzip location. The remaining steps in these installation instructions assume that you have unzipped the files to the default location. After extracting the files, use FTP to transfer the DBRM94_V10.xmit, DBRM94_V11.xmit, or the DBRM94_V12.xmit file to your z/OS system by doing a BINARY upload into the pre-allocated file created in step 1. STEP 3: RECEIVE THE XMIT FILEs TO CREATE THE DBRMLIB PDS (required) Under z/OS, issue a RECEIVE command against the uploaded XMIT file as follows where 'sas.dbrm94.vxx.xmit' is the preallocated file in step 1. receive indataset('sas.dbrm94.vx.xmit') After doing this step, you will see a prompt similar to the following: INMR901I Dataset DATA.SET.NAME from USERID on ???????? INMR906A Enter restore parameters or 'DELETE' or 'END' + At this prompt, you should enter something similar to the following in which sas.dbrm94.vxx.dbrmlib will the name of your newly created PDS containing the DBRM member(s): DA('sas.dbrm94.vxx.dbrmlib') This completes the download of the DBRM member(s) for SAS 9.4 under z/OS. NOTE: The following information should be given to the appropriate person responsible for doing the DB2 bind: * The name of the DBRMLIB data sets containing the SAS94 member (and the SAS94X member with DB2 V10 only) that were created in step 3 above. * When performing the DB2 bind, point to that DBRMLIB data set.
