INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 27IS08 ON LINUX BEFORE DOWNLOADING: The hot fix 27IS08 addresses the issue(s) in Release 2.7 of SAS IT Resource Management software on Linux as documented in the "Issue(s) Addressed" section of the hot fix download page: http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/itrm27.html#27is08 The hot fix is packaged in a compressed tar file. The name of the tar file is 27is08lx.tar IMPORTANT NOTE(S): 1. You must have SAS IT Resource Management 2.7 installed on your system before applying this hot fix. 2. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix. 3. To install the Windows client updates, you must download the Windows version of this hot fix and install it on each Windows client. AFTER DOWNLOADING: The following instructions describe the steps for installing this hot fix. In this example, !SASROOT, the directory where SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) is installed, is: /usr/local/sas913 STEP 1: Technical Support recommends that you back up the existing files that will be updated before installing this hot fix. $> cd /usr/local/sas913 $> tar -cf - misc/cpe | compress > misc_27is08.tar.Z $> tar -cf - sasautos | compress > sasautos_27is08.tar.Z $> tar -cf - saspgm/cpe | compress > saspgm_27is08.tar.Z The resulting compressed back up files will require over 100M of disk space. You may want to move these compressed files from the !SASROOT directory to a different location. STEP 2: Assuming the tar file is downloaded to the user's HOME directory, follow these procedures to install the package. $> pwd /usr/local/sas913 $> uncompress -c $HOME/27is08lx.tar | tar -xf - STEP 3: Execute the script that will update the hot fix install history file located in !SASROOT/install/admin/history.hotfix. This script MUST be executed from the !SASROOT directory. $> pwd /usr/local/sas913 $> install/admin/hotfix/histupd_27is08 STEP 4: If you are using the ITRM client, download the Windows version of this hot fix and install it on each Windows client. This completes the installation of hot fix 27IS08 on LINUX.
