Solaris for x64

Hot fix U95006 addresses the issue(s) in SAS Environment Manager Enablement Kit 2.2 as documented in the Issue(s) Addressed section of the hot fix download page:

http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/HF2/U95.html#U95006

U95006 is a "container" hot fix that contains the following "member" hot fixes which will update the software components as needed.

U93007  updates  SAS Environment Manager Enablement Kit Plug-in 2.2
U94002  updates  SAS Environment Manager Enablement Kit Server 2.2

See What is a container hot fix? in the Hot Fix FAQ for more information about container hot fixes.

Before applying this hot fix, follow the instructions in SAS Note 35968 to generate a SAS Deployment Registry report, then verify that the appropriate product releases are installed on your system. The release number information in the Registry report should match the 'member' release number information provided above for the software components installed on each machine in your deployment.

The hot fix downloaded, U95006pt.zip, includes the updates required for all components listed above on all applicable operating systems. To apply this hot fix on multiple machines, you can either save U95006pt.zip on each machine or save it in a network location that is accessible to all machines.

Do NOT extract the contents of U95006pt.zip. The hot fix installation process will extract the contents as needed.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process. However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates to software.

  2. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

  3. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix.

  4. This hot fix should be installed using the same userid who performed the initial software installation.

  5. CONFIGURATION: No automatic configuration scripting is included for this hot fix. If you have previously configured software installed, the SAS Deployment Manager may present a screen where you will see "Apply SAS Hot Fixes" and "Configure SAS Hot Fixes" options. On this screen, you must ensure that the "Configure SAS Hot Fix" option is *not* selected. If this option is automatically selected, please de-select it prior to proceeding with the SAS Deployment Manager Screens. Failure to do so could have unintended consequences when applying this hot fix.

INSTALLATION

Hot Fix U95006 must be installed on each machine where the updated components of the product, listed above, are installed. During the installation process you may see references to all operating systems for which updates are provided in the hot fix. The installation process will determine the operating system and which component(s) of SAS Environment Manager Enablement Kit 2.2 require updating on the machine. See SAS Note 44810 for more details.

The hot fix will be applied using the SAS Deployment Manager. By default, the SAS Deployment Manager will search in the <SASHOME>/InstallMisc/HotFixes/New directory for hot fixes to be applied, but will also prompt for a location if you have downloaded hot fixes to a different directory.

After downloading U95006pt.zip, follow the instructions for applying hot fixes in the SAS Deployment Wizard and SAS Deployment Manager 9.4: User's Guide.

Please review the CONFIGURATION Important Note above concerning proper selection of the "Configure SAS Hot Fix" option in the SAS Deployment Manager.

The hot fix installation process generates the log file

<!SASHOME>/InstallMisc/InstallLogs/IT_date-and-time-stamp.log
for example, IT_2011-10-31-13.18.21.log. Each attempt to apply a hot fix results in the creation of a new log file giving detailed information regarding the installation process.

Postexec log files are created after the installation is completed and identifies the files that were added, backed up, changed and removed. These log files include the ‘member’ hot fix id in the name of the file and are also written to the <!SASHOME>/InstallMisc/InstallLogs directory. There is one postexec log for each ‘member’ hot fix applied (member hot fixes are listed at the top of these instructions).

The content of this hot fix is listed in the hot fix manifest.

POST-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

For each product installed, click the link to be redirected to post-installation instructions.

U93007  updates  SAS Environment Manager Enablement Kit Plug-in 2.2
U94002  updates  SAS Environment Manager Enablement Kit Server 2.2

U93007  updates  SAS Environment Manager Enablement Kit Plug-in 2.2

Applying the hot fix via the SAS Deployment Manager puts the new sas-gridpws-plugin.jar file in the SASHome area but not in the SASConfig area. Post-Installation steps are required in an already configured system to replace the sas-gridpws-plugin.jar file in SASConfig.

In an already configured system, the updated sas-gridpws-plugin.jar file will need to be replaced on the SAS Environment Manager Agent(s). The hot fix installs an updated version of the sas-gridpws-plugin.jar file in <SASHome>/SASEnvironmentManagerEnablementKitPlugin/2.2/.

Note: If the hot fix is being applied after the SAS installation but before any prior SAS configuration has been completed then these post-install instructions will not be needed as the initial configuration will copy the hotfix jar file to the correct configuration directories as part of the SAS configuration. These instructions are required if a replacement of the plug-in jars are required in the SASConfig area.

  1. Log in to SAS Environment Manager using an account that is a member of the Environment Manager Super User group.

  2. Select Manage. Under Server Settings, select Plug-in Manager.

  3. Select the sas-gridpws plugin. Select Delete Selected Plug-in(s).

  4. Verify that all instances of the sas-gridpws-plugin.jar file have been deleted in the following <SASConfig> directories. If the file has not been deleted, manually remove it.
    <SASConfig>/LevX/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/agent-5.8.0-EE/bundles/agent-5.8.0/pdk/plugins/
    <SASConfig>/LevX/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/hq-plugins/
    <SASConfig>/LevX/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/server-5.8.0-EE/hq-engine/hq-server/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/hq-plugins/

  5. Stop the SAS Environment Manager Server and Agent

  6. Delete the contents of the agent data, logs and lib directories on the SAS Environment Manager Server machine:
    <SASConfig>/LevX/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/agent-5.8.0-EE/data/
    <SASConfig>/LevX /Web/SASEnvironmentManager/agent-5.8.0-EE/log/
    <SASConfig>/LevX /Web/SASEnvironmentManager/agent-5.8.0-EE/bundles/agent-5.8.0/pdk/work/lib/sas-gridpws/
The content of these directories will get replaced with the new content from the new jar file.

  7. Copy the new jar file from the SASHome area to the SAS Environment Manager Server config area. Copy:
    <SASHome>/SASEnvironmentManagerEnablementKitPlugin/2.2/sas-gridpws-plugin.jar
    to
    <SASConfig>/LevX/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/server-5.8.0-EE/hq-engine/hq-server/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/hq-plugins/

  8. Start the SAS Environment Manager Server and the SAS Environment Manager Agent.

  9. The SAS Environment Manager Server will synchronize the sas-gridpws plug-in across all of the Environment Manager Agents in the configuration.
The Agent Sync Status column in the Plug-In Manager for the sas-gridpws plug-in will indicate the synchronization status. After the updated plugin has been installed on all of the Agents, the Agent Sync Status will display a green checkmark.

U94002  updates  SAS Environment Manager Enablement Kit Server 2.2

To eliminate obsolete reports, follow steps below to copy and run the removeEMIContent.groovy script.

  1. Copy removeEMIContent.groovy
    from
    <SASHome>/SASEnvironmentManagerEnablementKitServer/2.2/core/Scripts/ directory
    to
    <SASConfig>/Levx/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/emi-framework/Scripts/ directory

  2. Navigate to <SASConfig>/Levx/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/emi-framework/ directory

  3. Submit the following command:
      ./Scripts/RunGroovy ./Scripts/removeEMIContent.groovy
A successful execution of the script, should end with the message: "The removal of the Service Architecture metadata folders completed successfully"

This completes the installation of hot fix U95006 on Solaris for x64.
