Installation Instructions for Hot Fix U65001

z/OS


Hot fix U65001 addresses the issue(s) in SAS/Secure SSL 9.2 on z/OS as documented
in the Issue(s) Addressed section of the hot fix download page:

U65001 is a "container" hot fix that contains the following "member" hot fixes which will update the software components
as needed. See the Container Hot Fixes section in the Maintenance Install Tool (MIT) Usage Guide for
more information about container hot fixes.
B25268 for Base SAS 9.21_M3 E51005 for SAS/Secure SSL 9.2 IMPORTANT NOTES 1. You must have SAS/Secure SSL 9.2 installed on your system before applying this hot fix. Refer to SN-35968 for instructions on how to determine which product releases you have installed. 2. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix. 3. This hot fix must be installed using the same userid which performed the initial software installation. 4. The hot fix installer has a graphical user interface that requires the use of an X11 server. If an X11 server is not available at your site, the silent installation process described below may be used. 5. Before proceeding with the execution of the hot fix binary, ensure that there are no SAS 9.2 jobs running because this step requires exclusive access to the SASHELP library. 6. SAS Hot Fixes are installed into new datasets after which they can be promoted to your production libraries. Several new datasets will be created in this process. 7. The hotfix CLIST or PROC jcl will be customized with the concatenate hotfix datasets.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

This hot fix must be installed on each machine where the updated components of the product, listed above, are installed.

If the updated components of this product are installed on multiple operating systems, you must download the hot fix for the appropriate operating system(s) and follow the installation instructions provided to complete the deployment of this hot fix.

  1. The hot fix package downloaded is a compressed pax file named U65001os.pax. Download this file to a working directory on the UNIX File System on z/OS. If you download U65001os.pax to a Windows or UNIX system, you must FTP the pax file in binary mode to a UNIX File System working directory on z/OS before continuing with the instructions.

  2. Uncompress the pax file with this command from the working directory on the UNIX File System on z/OS:
    pax -rvf U65001os.pax
    This command will create a U65001 subdirectory and extract these components:
    Hot Fix E51005
    E51005os.bin: Apply on each machine where SAS/Secure SSL 9.2 resides.
    Hot Fix B25268
    B25268os.bin: Apply on each machine where Base SAS 9.21_M3 resides.

  3. Follow the INSTALLATION instructions for each individual hot fix to complete the deployment of this hot fix.

    NOTE: You must complete the install of one hot fix before initiating the install for the next hot fix. Once the 2 hot fixes have been installed, perform the appropriate Post Installation tasks.

This completes the installation of hot fix U65001 on z/OS.
