Installation Instructions for Hot Fix M55007

Hot fix M55007 addresses an issue in SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office 6.1_M1 on Windows.


The hot fix downloaded, M55007wn.zip, contains the updated files required to address the issue.


IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. You must have SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office 6.1_M1 installed on your system before applying this hot fix. Refer to SN-35968 for instructions on how to determine which product releases you have installed.

  2. Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process. However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates to software.

  3. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

  4. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix.

  5. This hot fix should be installed using the same userid who performed the initial software installation.


Installation using the SAS Deployment Manager (SDM)

If you originally installed SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office 6.1 using the SAS Deployment Wizard (SDW), then Hot Fix M55007 should be applied to your system using the SAS Deployment Manager (SDM). By default, the SDM will search in the <SASHOME>\InstallMisc\HotFixes\New directory for hot fixes to be applied, but will also prompt for a location if you have downloaded hot fixes to a different directory.

After downloading M55007wn.zip, follow the instructions for applying hot fixes in the SAS Deployment Wizard and SAS Deployment Manager 9.4: User’s Guide.


Installation using Windows Installer (MSI)

If you originally installed SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office 6.1 using the Independent Installer from the SAS Software Depot\standalone_installs directory, then Hot Fix M55007 should be applied to your system using using the following steps:

1) Create a "M55007wn" directory on your machine and extract the contents of M55007wn.zip into that directory.

2) Go to the M55007wn\products\msofficeint_M55007__win__en__sp0__1 directory

3) Double-click "msofficeint_patch.msp".




This completes the installation of hot fix M55007 on Windows.
