Installation Instructions for Hot Fix M52001


Hot fix M52001 adds the ability to automate the post-installation steps for configuring certain products after a hot fix has been applied.
Please carefully review the "INSTALLATION" section of these instructions. The SAS Deployment Manager can NOT be used to install M52001 on your system.

M52001 is available for download from:

M52001 is a "container" hot fix that contains the following "member" hot fixes which will update the software components as indicated.

M51001  updates  SAS Deployment Manager 9.3963
M35001  updates  SAS Deployment Wizard 9.3963

The hot fix downloaded, M52001, includes the updates required for all components listed above on all applicable operating systems. M52001 must be present on each machine that requires the update.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process. However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates to software.

  2. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

  3. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix.

  4. This hot fix should be installed using the same userid who performed the initial software installation.


INSTALLATION

  1. Extract the contents of M52001pt.zip into a directory on each machine that requires the update. The following steps will need to be repeated on each machine.

  2. From a command prompt, "cd" to the directory where M52001pt.zip was extracted.

  3. Run the following command:
    java -jar sdmhftool.jar -sashome [fully-qualified-path-to-the-SASHome-where-M52001-should-be-applied.]
    For example, on Windows if your SASHome is "C:\program files\sas", you would enter:
    java -jar sdmhftool.jar -sashome "C:\program files\sas"

This completes the installation of hot fix M52001.
