Installation Instructions for Hot Fix J42001

Hot fix J42001 addresses the issue(s) in SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint 5.1 on Windows for x64 as documented
in the Issue(s) Addressed section of the hot fix download page:

The hot fix downloaded, J42001pt.zip, contains the updated files required to address
the documented issues.
Do NOT extract the contents of J42001pt.zip. The hot fix installation process will extract
the contents as needed.
IMPORTANT NOTES

You must have SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint 5.1 installed on your system before applying this hot fix.
Refer to SN-35968 for instructions on how to determine which product releases you have installed.

Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process.
However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates
to software.

You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated
before applying this hot fix.
- This hot fix should be installed using the same userid who performed the initial
software installation.
INSTALLATION
The J42001 hot fix for SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint 5.1 will be installed using the SAS Deployment Manager (SDM).
By default, the SDM will search in the <SASHOME>\InstallMisc\HotFixes\New directory for hot
fixes to be applied, but will also prompt for a location if you have downloaded hot fixes to a different
directory.
After downloading J42001pt.zip, follow the instructions for applying hot fixes in the
SAS Deployment Wizard and SAS Deployment Manager 9.3: User’s Guide.
The content of this hot fix is listed in the hot fix manifest.
POST-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The file <SASHOME>\SASWebPartsforMicrosoftSharePoint\5.1\Config\SAS.WebParts.wsp
will be installed during the installation of J42001. To successfully complete the deployment of this hot fix
the following steps must be performed.
- On the sharepoint server machine open a command prompt in Administrator mode and change directories
to the Webparts configuration directory, for example
C:\SAS\EBIserver\Lev1\Applications\SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint\5.1
- Uninstall the current webparts. Run
WebPartsSetup -u
- Make sure the file C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80\bin\SAS.WebParts.dll
is removed.
- Back up the SAS.WebParts.wsp file that is in the Webparts configuration directory, for example
C:\SAS\EBIserver\Lev1\Applications\SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint\5.1
- Copy the new SAS.WebParts.wsp from the <SASHOME> directory updated by the
hot fix installation into the Webparts configuration directory, for example, from
<SASHOME>\SASWebPartsforMicrosoftSharePoint\5.1\Config\SAS.WebParts.wsp
to
C:\SAS\<Config-dir>\Lev1\Applications\SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint\5.1
- Re-install and configure the webparts. Run
WebPartsSetup
This completes the installation of hot fix J42001 on Windows for x64.
