Installation Instructions for Hot Fix F68001

Windows for x64


Hot fix F68001 addresses the issue(s) in SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint 4.3 on Windows for x64 as documented in the Issue(s) Addressed section of the hot fix download page:

IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. You must have SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint 4.3 installed on your system before applying this hot fix. Refer to SN-35968 for instructions on how to determine which product releases you have installed.

  2. Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process. However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates to software.

  3. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

  4. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix.

  5. This hot fix should be installed using the same userid who performed the initial software installation.


INSTALLATION

1. The installer downloaded is F68001x6.exe.

When downloading SAS 9.2 hot fix packages, you must choose to Save the hot fix to disk, then execute the install from the saved location. Attempting to install a hot fix directly from the download page results in the error documented in SAS Note 37104.

2. Execute F68001x6.exe


This will initiate the installation wizard, which will guide you through the hot fix installation process.

Note: If your Windows operating system is Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008, it may be necessary to "right-click" F68001x6.exe and select "Run as administrator".

POST-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

The file <SASHOME>\SASWebPartsForMicrosoftSharePoint\4.3\Config\SAS.WebParts.wsp will be installed during the installation of F68001. To successfully complete the deployment of this hot fix the following steps must be performed.
  1. On the sharepoint server machine open a command prompt in Administrator mode and change directories to the Webparts configuration directory, for example
    C:\SAS\EBIserver\Lev1\Applications\SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint\4.3
  2. Uninstall the current webparts. Run
    WebPartsSetup -u
  3. Backup the SAS.WebParts.wsp file that is in that directory.

  4. Copy the new SAS.WebParts.wsp from the <SASHOME> directory updated by the hot fix installation into this directory.

  5. Re-install and configure the webparts. Run
    WebPartsSetup



This completes the installation of hot fix F68001 on Windows for x64.
