Installation Instructions for Hot Fix F1N004

Hot fix F1N004 addresses the issue(s) in DataDirect ODBC Driver for Microsoft SQL Server 9.43 on Windows for x64 as documented
in the Issue(s) Addressed section of the hot fix download page:

The hot fix downloaded, F1N004pt.zip, contains the updated files required to address
the documented issues.
Do NOT extract the contents of F1N004pt.zip. The hot fix installation process will extract
the contents as needed.
IMPORTANT NOTES

You must have DataDirect ODBC Driver for Microsoft SQL Server 9.43 installed on your system before applying this hot fix.
Refer to SN-35968 for instructions on how to determine which product releases you have installed.

Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process.
However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates
to software.

You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.
-
All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated
before applying this hot fix.
- This hot fix should be installed using the same userid who performed the initial
software installation.

CONFIGURATION: No automatic configuration scripting is included for this hot fix. If you have previously configured software installed,
the SAS Deployment Manager may present a screen where you will see "Apply SAS Hot Fixes" and "Configure SAS Hot Fixes" options.
On this screen, you must ensure that the "Configure SAS Hot Fix" option is *not* selected. If this option is automatically
selected, please de-select it prior to proceeding with the SAS Deployment Manager Screens. Failure to do so could have unintended
consequences when applying this hot fix.
INSTALLATION
The F1N004 hot fix for DataDirect ODBC Driver for Microsoft SQL Server 9.43 will be installed using the SAS Deployment Manager.
By default, the SAS Deployment Manager will search in the <SASHOME>\InstallMisc\HotFixes\New directory for hot
fixes to be applied, but will also prompt for a location if you have downloaded hot fixes to a different
directory.
After downloading F1N004pt.zip, follow the instructions for applying hot fixes in the
SAS Deployment Wizard and SAS Deployment Manager 9.4: User's Guide.
Please review the CONFIGURATION Important Note above concerning proper selection of the "Configure SAS Hot Fix" option in the SAS Deployment Manager.

POST-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
For UNIX based operating systems:
To use the new driver, check your SQL Server Wire Protocol data sources to ensure all Driver references to S0sqls27.so are changed to S0sqls28.so.
You should also change TraceDLL from S0trc27.so to S0trc28.so
To confirm that the correct driver is used, assign the library and use LIBNAME libref LIST ;
For the SQL Server Wire Protocol driver, we would expect to see
- No Hot Fixes:
SQL Driver version: = 07.16.0400 (B0412, U0270)
ODBC Driver name: = S0sqls27.so
- F1N002:
SQL Driver version: = 08.02.0321 (B0603, U0426)
ODBC Driver name: = S0sqls28.so
- F1N004:
SQL Driver version: = 08.02.1428 (B0909, U0667)
ODBC Driver name: = S0sqls28.so
For PC based operating systems:
After installing the hot fix, you must register the new version of the driver by following these steps.
- Microsoft recommends performing a system backup before editing the registry
- Edit <SASHOME>\AccessClients\9.4\SQLServer\sqls.reg
- Replace all 3 occurrences of \\<install dir>\\ with \\<SASHOME>\\AccessClients\\9.4\\SQLServer\\
NOTE: Ensure that any single backslash in the 3 paths are doubled, for example...
"C:\\Program Files\\SASHome\\AccessClients\\9.4\\SQLServer\\"
- Save sqls.reg
- Import the Windows Registry file.
For example, use the Windows REGEDIT command, and File, Import
This completes the installation of hot fix F1N004 on Windows for x64.
