Installation Instructions for Hot Fix E79002

Hot fix E79002 addresses the issue(s) in SAS Threaded Kernel Core Routines 9.3 on Windows for x64 as documented
in the Issue(s) Addressed section of the hot fix download page:

The hot fix downloaded, E79002x6.zip, contains the updated files required to address
the documented issues.
Do NOT extract the contents of E79002x6.zip. The hot fix installation process will extract
the contents as needed.
IMPORTANT NOTES

You must have SAS Threaded Kernel Core Routines 9.3 installed on your system before applying this hot fix.
Refer to SN-35968 for instructions on how to determine which product releases you have installed.

Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process.
However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates
to software.

You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated
before applying this hot fix.
- This hot fix should be installed using the same userid who performed the initial
software installation.

see SAS Note 40426, "The SAS® 9.3 depot subsetting option replaces the client and server installation model used by
earlier SAS® releases for Windows environments."
INSTALLATION
Hot fixes are installed using the SAS Deployment Manager.

POST-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Set the System Environment Variable SAS_NO_RANDOM_ACCESS=1
- Right-click My Computer or Computer and select Properties.
- Click Advanced system settings to open the System Properties dialog box.
- On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables....
- In the System variables pane (not the user variable pane), click New. The New System Variable command box appears. (Important: Make sure that you are not adding a new user variable. The top of the command box should say, "New System Variable," not "New User Variable." )
- In the Variable name field, enter SAS_NO_RANDOM_ACCESS, and in the Variable value field, enter 1.
- Click OK.
This completes the installation of hot fix E79002 on Windows for x64.
