Installation Instructions for Hot Fix A88001
Hot fix A88001 addresses the issue(s) in SAS Forecast Server 3.1_M2 on Windows as documented
in the Issue(s) Addressed section of the hot fix download page:
This hot fix download consists of individual hot fix installers for the following software components:
A81001 - SAS Forecast Server Plug-ins for SAS Management Console 3.1_M2
A82001 - SAS Forecast Server Batch Interface 3.1_M2
A89001 - SAS Forecast Studio 3.1_M2
A90001 - SAS Forecast Server Mid-Tier 3.1_M2
Before applying this hot fix, follow the instructions in SAS Note 35968
to generate a SAS Deployment Registry report, then verify that the appropriate product releases are installed on your system.
The software components and release numbers should match the list of software components updated by the individual hot fix
Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process.
However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates

The A88001wn.exe download is a self extracting executable that contains individual hot fix installers for the components listed above.
Copy this file to your location of choice. Launching the file will extract 4 components to c:\A88001:
Copy A81001wn.exe to each machine where SAS Forecast Server Plug-ins for SAS Management Console 3.1_M2 is installed.
Copy A82001wn.exe to each machine where SAS Forecast Server Batch Interface 3.1_M2 is installed.
Copy A89001wn.exe to each machine where SAS Forecast Studio 3.1_M2 is installed.
Copy A90001wn.exe to each machine where SAS Forecast Server Mid-Tier 3.1_M2 is installed.
Follow the INSTALLATION instructions for each individual hot fix to
complete the deployment of this hot fix.

After installing this hotfix, you must restart the SAS Analytics Platform server so that changes
in the SAS Forecast Server are incorporated into this component.
- Restarting in a Windows Environment
To restart the SAS Analytics Platform server in a Window environment, use one of these methods:
- From the Start menu, select Programs, SAS, SAS Configuration, Config-Lev, Analytics Platform Server - Start
- At a command prompt, navigate to the SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\AnalyticsPlatform directory and type
Note: When you initially installed SAS, you might have selected Windows options: run as managed scripts or services
in the SAS Deployment Wizard. If you selected this option, then the SAS Analytics Platform is run as a Windows Service.
Generally, you can start the service by using the Services window. However, the first time that you restart the server
after installing a hotfix, you must use either the Start menu or a command prompt. If you restart the server from the
Services window, then the SAS Analytics Platform does not pick up the updates in the SAS Forecast Server. After you have
restarted the server from either the Start menu or at a command prompt once, the next time that you restart the server
you can again use the Services window.
- Restarting in a UNIX Environment
To restart the SAS Analytics Platform server:
- Verify that your X server is running and is available.
- At the UNIX prompt, navigate to the directory where the SAS Analytics Platform server is configured. Usually,
this directory is SAS-configuration-directory/Lev1/AnalyticsPlatform
