Installation Instructions for Hot Fix A79001

64-bit Enabled AIX


Hot fix A79001 addresses the issue(s) in SAS Formats Library for DB2 1.6 on 64-bit Enabled AIX as documented in the Issue(s) Addressed section of the hot fix download page:

IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. You must have SAS Formats Library for DB2 1.6 installed on your system before applying this hot fix. Refer to SN-35968 for instructions on how to determine which product releases you have installed.

  2. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

  3. This hot fix should be installed using the same userid who performed the initial software installation.


INSTALLATION

1. The hot fix downloaded is a tar file called A79001r6.tar.

2. Extract the contents of A79001r6.tar into a temporary directory. Assuming the tar file is downloaded to the user's $HOME directory, execute the following

> cd /tmp
> tar -xvf $HOME/A79001r6.tar
This will extract the contents of the tar file to a /tmp/A79001r6 directory. The files extracted are
acceldb2fmt_AIX.sh
acceldb2fmt_Linux_x86_64.sh

3. Replace the existing files in your SAS Software Depot with the files delivered in the hot fix:

<SAS Software Depot root folder>/products/acceldb2fmt__92110__prt__xx__sp0__1/ acceldb2fmt_AIX.sh
<SAS Software Depot root folder>/products/acceldb2fmt__92110__prt__xx__sp0__1/ acceldb2fmt_Linux_x86_64.sh

4. Follow the installation/configuration instructions to complete the deployment of this hot fix.
