INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOT FIX 20EG11 ON WINDOWS BEFORE DOWNLOADING: The hot fix 20EG11 addresses the issues in Release 2.0 of Enterprise Guide software on Windows as documented in the "Issue(s) Addressed" section of the hot fix download page: http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/ent_guide20.html IMPORTANT NOTE(S): 1. You must have Enterprise Guide Release 2.0 installed on your system before applying this hot fix. When attempting to install 20EG11 on a machine running WINDOWS XP Pro and Service Pack 1, you may receive the following error dialog: "The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched. Class not registered." This error will occur if you ONLY choose "Enterprise Guide Setup" during the EG 2.0 installation and DID NOT choose "System Requirement Wizard" first. If you get the message above, start the original EG 2.0 installation again, and select "System Requirement Wizard". The following 4 screens will be displayed: - Choose a language - select OK button - Welcome to System Requirements Wizard - click on Next button - Software Selection - select Enterprise Guide V2 , then click on Next button - System update is not required - click the Finish button Even though it appears that nothing is happening, the "Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine\6\Intel 32" is created, containing ikernel.exe. After exiting this installation, you can install 20EG11. 2. Enterprise Guide projects that are saved after this hot fix is applied cannot be used in Enterprise Guide installations that do not have the hot fix. It is advised that when you apply this hot fix, you apply it to all Enterprise Guide installations in your workgroup or organization. For more information, refer to SASNote: SN-009936 Enterprise Guide projects saved with hot fix 20EG11 applied are not backward compatible which may be reviewed at: http://support.sas.com/techsup/unotes/SN/009/009936.html 3. Any Enterprise Guide sessions currently running MUST be closed before applying this maintenance; otherwise, the maintenance will not install properly. AFTER DOWNLOADING: The hot fix package downloaded is a self extracting executable named 20eg11wn.exe. Launching the executable will initiate the install wizard, which will guide you through the setup process. This completes the installation of hot fix 20EG11 on Windows.
