SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) Service Pack 2 (SP2) is now available for ordering
on media. The downloadable version of SP2 should be available in late
March 2005.
Below are some questions you may have regarding Service Pack 2 and hot fixes:
Q: Are Service Packs cumulative?
A: Yes. The fixes and enhancements (including hot fixes) that were in Service
Pack 1 are included in Service Pack 2.
Q: Where have all the SAS 9.1.3 hot fixes gone?
A: All SAS 9.1.3 hot fixes released prior to SP2 have been removed from
the hot fix download site. These hot fixes are all contained within SP2
and will no longer be available for individual download.
Q: The SAS Note I am reading says there is a 9.1.3 Fix available.
I clicked on the link and it takes me to a table that says
"SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 2". What does this mean?
A: It means that the fix you are looking for is contained in SP2.
Q: Will there still be 9.1.3 hot fixes?
A: Yes. Any hot fixes that are released at this point will be developed
for Service Pack 2.
IMPORTANT - If you want to apply any new SAS 9.1.3 hot fixes, you MUST install
SP2 first before installing the new hot fixes.
Q: Can I apply new 9.1.3 hot fixes without having Service Pack 2 on my system?
A: No. SP2 is required for all new 9.1.3 hot fixes. Changes have been made
to the hot fix installers to specifically check for the presence of SP2. If
SP2 is not found, the hot fix installers should fail.
Q: I don't want to have to wait for media… when will Service Pack 2 be
available for download on the hot fix site?
A: Current plans are to have Service Pack 2 available for download in late March 2005.
Q: Will the SAS TS Level be incremented in the SAS log after the Service Pack
has been applied?
A. No, the TS Level will not be incremented. However, after SP2 has been
applied you should see a note in the SAS log that displays:
NOTE: SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 2
