    V6-CALIS-G980 ***Alert Note***

    MATRIX statement syntax [ , ] yields incorrect model

    Product: STAT
    Component: CALIS
    Priority: ALERT

      The MATRIX statement in PROC CALIS allows you to specify the
      location of items in a matrix via [i,j] notation. It is valid
      to leave the i and j subscripts blank [ , ]. Thus, the following
      two MATRIX statements should produce the same results.

         1) MATRIX PHI [,] = 10*COV:;

      and

         2) MATRIX PHI = 10*COV:;

      However, with the syntax shown in #1 above, the model is not
      being correctly specified, so the output from the procedure is
      incorrect. There are no warnings or error messages.

      To circumvent the problem, use the #2 syntax.
