    SN-005132 ***Alert Note***

PROC MIXED May Report Wrong Satterthwaite or KR Degrees of Freedom with
Heterogeneous Covariance Structures on the RANDOM statement

    Product: SAS/STAT
    Component: MIXED procedure
    Priority: HIGH

PROC MIXED will report incorrect degrees of freedom when
DDFM=SATTERTHWAITE or DDFM=KR is used with a heterogeneous covariance
structure (CSH, ARH(1) or TOEPH) in conjunction with the SOLUTION option
      on the RANDOM statement.

To circumvent the problem, remove the SOLUTION option from the RANDOM
      statement.

    Keywords:
mixed satterth satterthwaite kr df random solution s csh arh(1) toeph
      incorrstat incorrout incorrect
proc mixed may report wrong satterthwaite or kr degrees of freedom with
heterogeneous covariance structures on the random statement
