SN-003669 OUTSTANDING PROBLEM
Using SET VALUE to specify a replacement value produces incorrect
results for numeric class variables containing missing values
Product: Enterprise Miner
Component: Replacement node
Priority: ALERT
In the Replacement node, under the Class Variables tab, there is an
Imputation Method column. If you right click a row in this column, you
can choose 'select method,' 'set value...,' 'data value,' and press a
down arrow to pick a data value from a list of values that appears.
When you then click OK, the value you chose appears in the Imputation
Method column. However, when you run the node, it will incorrectly
ignore the value you chose and it will use a different value instead.
(The value it uses is the value which precedes the one you chose.)
This happens for class variables having numeric values when the list of
values contains a missing value as one of the choices.
There are no warnings or errors indicating that the node ran
incorrectly. (However if you closely examine the scoring code, you may
notice that the imputed value is incorrect.)
To circumvent the problem, type in a data value instead of choosing a
value from the list.
