SN-003489 OUTSTANDING PROBLEM
Transform Variables node may not detect changes in Input Data source
Product: Enterprise Miner
Component: Transformation node
Priority: ALERT
Consider the following flow in Enterprise Miner:
Input Data Source --> Transform Variables --> a modeling node
Suppose a variable X exists in the Input Data Source. In the Transform
Variables node, create a transformation of X. Go back to the Input Data
Source node, and reject X. Now run the flow from the Transform Variables
node. The Transform Variables node should drop the new transformed
variable, however it does not. It incorrectly passes the transformed
variable to the modeling node. Hence the results of the modeling node
are incorrect, and so are any results following the modeling node
(assessment, scoring, etc). There are no warnings or errors indicated.
The only way to tell if the problem has occurred is to open the modeling
node(s) and verify that the transformed variables are not used as
inputs.
To circumvent the problem, open the modeling nodes and verify that the
list of input variables is correct.
