Shared data libraries are not properly locked when opened by V6 clients

In Versions 7 and 8(TSM0) of SAS/SHARE Software, the data integrity of shared
SAS data libraries may be compromised when concurrent access is permitted by one
or more Version 6 clients.

Version 7 and 8(TSM0) servers fail to properly lock shared data libraries
amongst client populations which include Version 6 users. Results may include
corrupted and misleading data within the corresponding shared data libraries.
It is important to note that Versions 7 and 8(TSM0) clients properly lock and
maintain data integrity within shared libraries accessed through Versions 6, 7,
or 8(TSM0) servers.

To circumvent this problem, take the necessary steps to ensure that Version 6
clients do not access data through Versions 7 and 8(TSM0) servers with the
exception of read-only mode.

This problem is currently under investigation. A fix will be made available as
soon as possible. For further details on the availability of the fix, check
